Product Review: COSRX Favorites Best Sellers Set

COSRX recently sent over a PR package of their Favorites Best Sellers Set which retails for $25 at Ulta Beauty. (disclaimer: I was sent the products to share on TikTok. I wanted to share my full thoughts on my blog. This post isn’t sponsored or anything!). I have been eyeing up their products for probably about 6 months now but never followed through because I had so many other products to get through first. So many people love their products so I was excited to see the hype. They are known to be effective and affordable which is always a plus in my book. In this post, I’m going to go through what’s inside this set and give my full review of each individual product.

What’s Inside?

So, this product is basically tester/travel sizes of their bestselling products. This set contains most of the essentials for a skincare routine (besides SPF). So, I think this is a great mini-set to try if you don’t like purchasing the full products. In the Favorites Best Sellers Set there is the…

Low pH Good Morning Cleanser

The full size of this product retails for $14. This formula claims to be gentle and hydrating. One thing I look for in cleansers is something that is gentle. I personally have a normal to dry skin type so when I use too strong of cleansers, my skin feels stripped and dry. One of my personal favorites is the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Gentle Hydrating Cleanser which is $15.

I had pretty high hopes for this cleanser. I did like it, and it definitely wasn’t too drying. I just don’t think I would repurchase because I could not get over the strong smell. The product has a little tea tree leaf oil in it but even the smallest amount can be so overpowering. If you don’t mind the strong scent and are looking for an affordable and gentle cleanser I definitely would try a sample because it felt nice but I wasn’t that impressed. I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay cleanser and it’s been hard for me to transition because I’m obsessed and since they are in the same price range there really isn’t any benefit for me to switch.

Acne Master Pimple Patches

I have used these pimple patches before this PR package and I loved them. Pimple patches are a great way to reduce the appearance of the zit while also bringing the build-up to the surface and drying it without irritation. It also stops you from picking a zit and causing irritation or even scarring. I personally like to apply these before my skincare routine at night, and remove in the morning. It’s so satisfying when you see the patch has basically popped your zit and removed the bacteria for you without the irritation. When I’ve needed to, I also use them during the day and hide them under my mask. Some people even apply makeup over them! I highly recommend pimple patches. Honestly, any brand is good because they are all just made of hydrocolloid (which is used in dressing wounds and first aid) but COSRX has a pack of 96 pimple patches for $11. So basically, just beware of paying too much for hydrocolloid pimple patches because they shouldn’t be super expensive!

Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Yes. All I have to say is yes. This product is…wow. I have seen so many people rave about this product and I am so glad I finally get to try it! For the longest time I tried ordering it and every time it was sold out! I will most definitely be purchasing the full size of this. This product retails for $23 at Ulta. If you haven’t heard of this product yet and are like umm? snails? Don’t knock it until you try it because it is so hydrating. I usually am a huge fan of hyaluronic acid products because I try to keep my skin hydrated and plump. This snail mucin is better. The main ingredient of this product is Snail Secretion Filtrate which helps hydrate, brighten, and support healthy skin repair followed by Sodium Hyaluronate which is a form of hyaluronic acid (my literal favorite ingredient ever).

The best way to use it is by applying after cleansing. My favorite way to apply products that have a hydrating property is to apply them to a sort of damp face just so my skin can really absorb the product. And don’t worry, this product isn’t sticky at all! Then you can apply the rest of your serums, moisturizer, and SPF (during the day). I highly recommend this if you have a damaged skin barrier, dry or dull skin, or you just need a little boost of hydration. You can’t go wrong with this product. If you prefer this to be in a cream or moisturizer form, they also have the COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream for $24 at Ulta.

Oil-free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion

Any moisturizer that claims to be ultra moisturizing is definitely on a must-try list for me because I love hydrating moisturizers. I’m lucky enough to not get clogged pores or congested skin from the heavier moisturizers so I love using them to really nourish my skin. I tried this Oil-free Ultra Moisturizer Lotion ($24) a few times and I really like it! It’s not too heavy which is nice for a summer or spring skincare routine. I personally would use this during the winter under a thicker moisturizer just because I do get a little drier in colder temperatures. I really enjoy the formula and if you are looking for something lightweight but also hydrating I would try this moisturizer! It contains one of my favorite ingredients, hyaluronic acid as well as a few other soothing ingredients. I definitely would purchase this in a full size because it’s affordable and made my skin feel great! It’s lightweight as well which is amazing for people with more acne-prone or oilier skin types.

Overall, I really enjoyed trying the COSRX products. They are a fairly well known brand that I have been eyeing up a lot since so many other creators rave over their products. I most definitely will be repurchasing the snail mucin ASAP, and will likely buy the oil-free moisturizer when warmer weather comes along! Thank you again COSRX for sending products to me!
