It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog, sorry! I’ve been so busy. I wanted to share with everyone shaving products I use to reduce irritation, ingrowns, and more! I have really coarse dark hair and finding decent products for my legs and bikini area has been such a struggle. I finally found some products that work pretty well when I don’t have time to get a wax. I personally prefer waxes but corona has ruined that. Here are the products I use for a super smooth, no irritation shave!

1. Billie Razor

I love the Billie Razor for a few reasons. You order online and you get a razor, a razor holder, and 2 replacement razor heads. They also have other body care add-ons which I haven’t tried yet. Instead of paying $20 for a pack of 4 replacement heads they are about $9 for a pack of 4 and are refilled on a subscription basis. You can even change the frequency! You can choose replacements to be sent every 1 month, 2 months, or even 3 months. I’ve had this razor brand for about 4 years now and I love it. It has the smoothing bar like the expensive Venus razors and the cost is much better.

2. Silicone Body Scrubber

You can find more information about this product in my Amazon Finds post. The silicone body scrubber really does help my whole body but even my bikini area. Instead of using the traditional loofah that harbors bacteria the silicone scrubber helps exfoliate and soften the hairs for a super smooth shave. I apply my shaving products on the scrubber, rub the product for about 10-20 seconds and then it’s ready to shave!

3. Brazilian Bare Shave Syrup

I found this Shave Syrup at Target about a month ago after the products I was using were causing more irritation. I figured I would try this product and I am SO glad I did! It makes shaving so much smoother and easier. When you aren’t using the right products shaving can hurt or cause insane irritation. This product gives you such smooth skin like you just had a wax. It creates a barrier between your hair and your skin which reduces the possibility of irriation. I apply about a dime size of product to my silicone body scrubber and apply to the area for about 10 seconds, let it sit for a few seconds and then shave. The razor just glides and doesn’t get clogged. I don’t only use it in my bikini area, I also use it for my legs. Obsessed with this product, and it smells like vanilla without being too aggressive. 4. Finipil

My waxing place was the first time I was introduced to Finipil. This product is used after waxing or shaving. It’s an antiseptic cream that cools the skin, reduces redness from waxing, and protects your skin and hair follicles from ingrown hairs. Unlike liquid after shave products, Finipil doesn’t dry you out or contain harsh alcohols. This product is a little harder to find, Amazon does carry it but it’s expensive. If you can get your hands on this, its SO worth it. The bottle lasts a while as you only need to use a dime amount basically anywhere on your body.

These products have been staples this summer, even when I’m stuck at home. The most important thing with shaving, especially around your bikini area is hydration! I make sure to use a fragrance-free lotion to prevent any further irritation. Cerave Daily moisturizing lotion which contains 3 essential ceramides to really keep your skin hydrated.
