My Favorite Face Masks for Self Care Sunday

Sunday Scaries? Nope, not here. Sunday’s are dedicated to my most intense skincare routines. Usually because it’s my relax day but also sometimes over the weekend I am not the best about a nighttime skincare routine. I typically do face masks 2 times a week and I switch them up depending on what my skin needs. I’ve learned to grow away from peel off masks and sheet masks. Peel off masks are terrible for your skin and really don’t do anything but rip off and irritate your skin. Sheet masks are great for a one time use or if you’re feeling lazy but they aren’t really effective and aren’t the best for the environment either. Here are some of my favorite face masks right now!

1. Farmacy Beauty Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask-$38

I am obsessed with all things Farmacy Beauty and this Honey Potion mask is AMAZING. I tried the sample size first and was hooked. It can be a sticky mess, but applying with a face mask brush or spatula makes it much easier to handle. The warming sensation is like no other gives you a spa like experience. It’s also a super gentle product and works for all skin types. It’s even great for sensitive skin!

How to use: Apply to face and gently rub in the product for 1-2 minutes until it warms up and turns into a white cream. Then you leave it applied for 10-15 more minutes and rinse off.

Benefits: Soothes irritated and dry skin, hydrates skin, leaves skin glowing, soft, and plump.

2. Muddy Body Detox Clay Mask- $24

I’m going to be honest, I never heard of this brand until they reached out to me and offered to send me products to try. I made sure to really read about the ingredients and test the product multiple times before sharing with my followers. This Detox Clay Mask is one of Muddy Body’s best sellers with over 4,000 reviews! I was so excited to try. One of my favorite things about this product is that it comes in a powder form so you can make the consistency how you like. I personally am not a fan of the Aztec Clay Healing Mask because I feel like it’s too harsh on the skin. This is gentler! I’ve used this mask once a week since April and I still have a good amount of product left. I also have an affiliate code with the brand, “RILEY15”. Make sure to follow my Instagram and watch my stories because they always are having flash sales with my discount code for 20-25% off!

How to use: Mix a spoonful of powder with a few drops of water and mix until the mask is smooth and there are no powder lumps. Apply with a face mask brush and let sit for 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water and follow up with a hydrating skincare routine.

Benefits: Targets clogged and congested pores, acne, acne scars, blackheads, and hyperpigmentation.

3. Summer Friday R+R Mask- $52

I know what you are thinking, $52? Are you crazy? Yes and no. I purchased this R+R Mask during the Sephora Sale because my whole timeline on Instagram was FILLED with this mask. The sole reason I purchased it was because the product was so beautiful. I kept thinking about all the amazing photos I could take of it. It finally arrived and I fell in love even more. This mask isn’t one I would use weekly because I want to make my $52 last. Also, it’s more of a physical exfoliator which I try to not use often because they tend to dry out my skin. I’ve used this mask only a few times but I loved the results each time. It gently buffs your skin, and then replenishes it with rich hydrating oils leaving your skin smooth and radiant. It does smell like rose petals, which didn’t bother me but if you are not a fan of floral scents you may not like this product!

How to use: Apply to DRY cleansed skin, gently massage and leave on for 10 minutes. Remove with a damp warm wash cloth and pat remaining oils into the skin.

Benefits: Targets dullness, dryness, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

All of these masks range in price and I have so many more masks I love but these have been my summer favorites so far! Stay tuned for more of my favorite masks. Follow my Instagram @straightupskincare to stay up to date with my daily posts & happy masking!
